Cyber Security Nordic Competition
2024

Highlighting the top performers in cyber security

Cyber Security Nordic, in collaboration with FISC and FiBAN, is organising a cyber security competition, which will open for applications in mid-August and close on 22nd September 2024. Finalists will be announced at the beginning of October 2024.

The competition seeks new innovations or services that contribute to the development and growth of the industry in Finland and have international potential. The final will be held as a pitching competition at the Cyber Security Nordic event on 29th October 2024, with members of FiBAN invited to attend. The winner will receive a €10,000 prize awarded by the Finnish Fair Foundation with an opportunity for additional investment by investors from the Finnish Business Angel network.

Who can apply?

The competition is open to a cybersecurity company, team or organisation, operating and registered in Finland.  

Jury

The award winner is selected by a professional jury that will be announced later.

Rules of the competition.

Cyber Security Nordic, in collaboration with FISC and FiBAN, is organising a cyber security competition, which will open for applications in mid-August and close on 22nd September 2024. Finalists will be announced at the beginning of October 2024. 

The competition seeks new innovations or services that contribute to the development and growth of the industry and have international potential. The finalists have an opportunity for additional investment by investors from the Finnish Business Angel network. Additionally, a company or organisation registered in Finland will be awarded by a €10,000 prize, donated by the Finnish Fair Foundation.  

Criteria.

The competition is open to a cybersecurity company, team, or organisation, operating and registered in Finland, that meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • The innovative solution or service supports the United Nations’ (UN) sustainable development goals, such as those related to economic growth (for example, the protection of intellectual capital or trade secrets), digital industry and transition, the protection of fundamental rights, or urbanisation.
  • The product promotes responsible digitalisation, data processing, and trust.
  • The innovative solution or service has the potential to create an international, European, or global impact.
  • The innovative solution or service strengthens the competitiveness and profitability of Finnish companies and/or the appeal of Finland as a business environment.

Progression.

The competition jury will select the entrants that will go through to the final by the end of September 2024 and will, in their selection, pay attention to the potential impact and scalability of the entry. Products and services submitted to the competition must be on the market and available for sale in 2024.

The finalists selected by the jury will present their product or service in a pitch competition on the Cyber Security Nordic Gold stage on 29 November 2024, and the jury will then select the winner. The winner will receive a €10,000 prize, donated by the Finnish Fair Foundation with an opportunity for additional investment by investors from the Finnish Business Angel network.
